The main domain has to point to our nameservers first. If it still points elsewhere, or a transfer is in progress, cPanel cannot create subdomains for it.
Check that the domain uses the nameservers in your welcome email, then allow time for the change to spread (see How long until my site works?). Once the domain resolves to our server, try again.
If your domain’s DNS has to stay with another provider, create the subdomain in cPanel and then add an A record for it at that provider, pointing to your Tremhost server’s IP address.
