Registering a .co.zw: what ZISPA asks for
.co.zw is run by ZISPA, the Zimbabwe Internet Service Providers' Association, through registrars. These are its rules; we tell you exactly what to send after you order.
You will need
- The owner's details with a national ID (a person) or certificate of incorporation (a company)
- A signed letter on letterhead, or a certified ID copy for a person, naming the domain and accepting ZISPA's terms
- Authority from the company concerned if the name is a known company or organisation name
Good to know
- Schools, clubs and churches are registered in the organisation's name, not a person's
- Two working nameservers are needed; ours are set up for you
- ZISPA aims to process applications within one working day once the paperwork is complete

How much does a .co.zw domain cost?

What do I need to register a .co.zw domain?
.co.zw is run by ZISPA, the Zimbabwe Internet Service Providers' Association. It asks for the owner's details with a national ID (for a person) or certificate of incorporation (for a company), and a signed letter on letterhead or a certified ID copy that names the domain and accepts its terms. Names of known companies need that company's authority, and schools, clubs and churches are registered in the organisation's name. We tell you exactly what to send after you order.
How long does .co.zw registration take?
ZISPA says it aims to process applications within one working day, and usually within an hour or so during working hours, once the paperwork is complete. A .com or .org does not need paperwork.
Should I choose .co.zw or .com?
If your customers are mainly in Zimbabwe, .co.zw tells them you are local and costs less. If you sell abroad or plan to, add the .com. Many businesses register both and point one at the other so nobody else can take the name.
Is the domain registered in my name?
Yes. The domain is registered with the owner details you give us, which should be your business or your own name, not ours or a web designer's. That is what lets you move it or sell it later.
Can I use the domain with hosting somewhere else?
Yes. You can point the domain at any host or email service. If you host with us, we connect it for you.
Do I get a free domain?
