Add it in cPanel under Domains. It gets its own folder and works as a separate website, as long as your plan allows more than one site.
- Point the new domain to Tremhost first: see How do I point my domain to Tremhost?
- In cPanel, open Domains → Domains and click Create A New Domain.
- Type the domain name.
- Untick Share document root so the domain gets its own folder (for example
public_html/newdomain.com), unless you want it to show the same site as your main domain. - Click Submit, then upload the site into that folder or install WordPress on the new domain.
Domains, subdomains and aliases
- Another domain (once called an addon domain): a separate website on the same hosting account.
- Subdomain: a part of your domain, such as
shop.yourdomain.com, with its own folder. Created the same way. - Alias (once called a parked domain): a second name that shows the same website as your main domain. Add it under Domains → Aliases.
