If your domain uses Tremhost nameservers, edit its records in cPanel’s Zone Editor. If DNS is elsewhere, make the change at that provider.
- In cPanel, open Domains → Zone Editor.
- Click Manage next to the domain.
- Click + Add Record and choose the type, or edit an existing record.
- Save. Most changes take effect within minutes to a few hours.
Records you are most likely to need
| A | Points a name to a server’s IP address (your website). |
|---|---|
| CNAME | Points a name to another name, for example www to your domain, or a service’s verification address. |
| MX | Tells the world which server receives your email. Change it only if you move email to another provider, such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. |
| TXT | Text used for SPF, DKIM, DMARC and service verification. |
Tip: Before changing MX records, make sure the new mail provider is ready, or mail will bounce.
